Default HU 613 question

My first post....I just bought a 2004 XC70 and should have had one years ago. I mostly drive Outbacks, but this car is incredible. However, I've seen mention on various other forums that you can access the hidden menus on the Hu 163. I've tried all the directions, but they just don't work....is there a trick to accessing the hidden menu on the 2004? Many thanks.

I have the Hu613 in my 2001. I was able to access the hidden EQ settings by doing the following:

Radio off -> Press and Hold "Source" for at least 5 seconds -> (Still holding "Source") Press "Volume" once -> (Still holding "Source") Wait 2-3 seconds for the display to change. The key is holding "Source" through the entire process.

Once inside the EQ menu you can set the Low1, Low2, Mid and High levels (something like that). Rotate Source to change the value and press Source to move on to the next setting. Any other button will take you out of the menu.

Anyway, hopefully it will work the same in your newer XC.

fast ride,

Thank you for such a quick reply. I tried it and it just doesn't work. I'm wondering if they changed the codes on the 2004...most likely, although I can't imagine why.

yrs,
