new door panel or a new door?
All,
two days ago I was hit in a parking lot in the rear passenger door. One estimate from a body shop (recommended by my Volvo dealer) was to simply put a new door panel on and paint the panel, rear quarter panel, and passenger door to blend the gold metallic paint. My next estimate was from an auto shop that suggested I just get a new or salvage door and then paint it to match. My question is, what is the best option? I've heard that body work creates moisture that will end up rust ing in five years, so my inclination is to just get the new door.
thanks for your time.

The new door would be they way to go Tech, but I need to see what the insurance adjuster says. My guess is that he just writes up an estimate for the door skin and not a new door seeing as no structural damage exists.
