New Owner - A/C Causing Transmission Problem?
hi, all. i recently inherited a '99 XC70 with 102,000 miles. when starting the car, an orange light on the ac button and air recirculating button blinks for about 20 seconds and then the ac works fine. this happens each time i start the car.
my family just completed a 1,300 mile journey in the car without incident until i hit a bump and the car started hesitating and "bouncing" like we had a flat tire. upon stopping at a rest stop and letting the car rest for a few minutes, we turned off the ac and continued on our journey. the car drives fine unless the ac is on. when switched on, it hesitates and jumps(in drive or reverse).
does anyone have any thoughts about what might be causing this problem?
i am in st. louis and drove the car from connecticut, where it was cared for by a very attentive, local mechanic. so ... i don't yet have a mechanic to work with.
many thanks for any and all suggestions.
