Default Noise when backing up

My 2001 XC70 has only 28K. Yes, that low of a mileage . Lately, it sometimes makes a thumping noise when I tried to reverse, although not all the time. Sounds like something was stuck (perhaps the wheels, 'cause the noise came from that front direction). Also, I felt that when I turn the wheels all the way, there was a sudden jerk like I just went over a stone or something. What seems to be the problem (or two different problems)? Thanks.

It might be 2 different ones. Have the front suspension checked.

DO you leave the parking brake on for extended periods of time? If so it may be sticking when you first move the car

I don't remember leaving the car on parking brake for too long. But it is cold here in Ithaca and the car is parked on the driveway.
Tech, you said there might 2 problems. Suspension and what else?
Thanks,

Driveshaft/Angle gear.
But I would have all the bushings and front suspension checked first.
