Default oil filter

I am wondering if the filters are screw on or cartridge for the XC70.Ok I am new to Volvo and was told by a salesperson that the Volvo filter was the only one that should ever be used as others dont hold the proper oil press.,but was then told by others that Mann makes the filters for Volvo.I have looked at some other aftermarket filters that appear to be cartridges and yet the stock one looks to be screw on.I have ordered the Mann filter but curious to know which it is-screw or cart.

My 2005 has a cartridge filter. The housing surrounding the filter requires a special 86MM filter wrench.
