Default Oil weight

Brand NEW memember here...........name is Homer
I just bought my 1st Volvo. Used have alot of Alfa Romeos and used 20w50
oil. Can you guys let me know which oil weight you would recommend for my 2001 Cross Country w/102k milage. I like the heavy oil but never had a turbo
before

I have an xc70 1998 and use 10-30w or 10-40w "High Mileage" additives seem to help seals, reduce burning oil - we recently re-built turbo w/ a kit and I am soon going to clean out- oil PCV -trap

The hotter the heavier, would not exceed 10-40

Colder, no less than 5-30

castrol syntec 0w-30 very good anywhere, do not know if you want synthetic.

Use synthetic oil because it's the best oil for a turbocharged car.
