Default Parts check

Going to be doing the shocks and struts on the wife's 01 XC70 and am about ready to buy the parts. Here is my list, I would be grateful if anyone can sanity check it and see if I left out anything.

Front struts (of course)
Front strut mounts
Front spring seats
Rear shocks (another of course)
Rear shock mounts
Rear spring seats

I replaced the sway bar end links about 12,000 miles ago and they are good.

Thanks,

Glenn

I do not think there is rear spring seats that go bad.
Other than that looks like you have it all.

Ouch, how did it go? One other question, are there any funky tools I will need to get before I do the front and rear shocks/struts? I have a the tools to do struts on most cars, but I need to know if the XC70 has anything out of the ordinary (weird size sockets, star bits, etc....

Thanks,

Glenn

There is a wierd star shaped lock nut on the struts that you will need to remove. IPD make a special tool to get it off but I've also seen a homemade tool made by grinding teeth into a socket

Here is pics of one of them I made. You can use a socket though I think it needs to be a 7/8's or bigger though.
