Default Power window issue

Got a 99 XC70 and today the drivers side power window quit going up and I have a couple of questions:

1. Do you have to remove the door panel in order to get the power window switch cluster out?
2. If 'yes' to #1, how do you remove the door panel?

Also, if anyone has any pointers on what may be causing this or how to fix it, I would love to hear it.

The switch assembly's are very common to go bad.
I slide a hook tool into the switch assembly and pull it up and out.

You shouldn't have to remove the door panel to get the switch out. Tech is right, the switches go bad often
