Default premature timing belt failure

how many of you have experience a premature timing belt failure. as this is a major failure i am hoping not many. i have an '00 xc se with 85k miles. i am beginning to worry, even though i am 20k from the service interval. i am hoping to make it to 90k or so.

any thoughts?

thanks.

I'm pushing 102k I inspected the belt last week and It still looks pretty good. I will change it at 105k though. The belt is made up of kevlar (i think)

I have seen to many to count on one hand,
Also you have to remember that the service interval for the tensioner is only 80k.
I have seen the tensioners break at 60k.

If the belt isn't cracked all that bad you should be fine driving.
Hard for me to say without me seeing it myself.
