Rear main seal leak causing rpm sensor to fail
Hey there.
I own a 1993 volvo 850 glt. My rear main seal is leaking causing the rmp sensor to get wet with oil resulting in stalling at low rpms.
I put bars seal conditioner in it with no improvement. I took the rpm sensor
out many times, cleaned it then cleared the codes witch works good until its wet again.
My question, Is there a higher rpm sensor I can replace it with to raise the rpm's to 1k it doesn't stall if revved up a little higher.
Or another way to raise the rpm's?
The obvious thing would be to replace the rear main seal but the labor involved isn't worth it on an engine with 300k miles on it.
thanks for any insight.
