I have noticed that my service light has been on for 4 months, and i have taken my car into the shop a few times since and the light never goes off. Any thoughts??

 

Is it the service light or Check engine light?If it is the service light do a search on this forum for service light reset and follow instructions to reset.If you have trouble let me know.

Try this:
1. With ignition switch off, press and hold the odometer reset button.
2. Turn ignition switch to Run.
3. After SRL flashes, release the odometer reset button.
4. Confirm that this has cleared the SRL by turning the ignition off and then on again.

You need to press and hold the trip button from the ACCESSORY position then turn it on all the way.Then keep holding it about 10 seconds and then you will see the light flash.Release the trip button after the 3rd flash and it should be reset.

Sometimes it takes 4-5 times to get it opt take.
