When I put the heat on it always smells like antifreeze in the car especially when I put the fan on. I didi havae at one point a leak but that was fixed and I am not leaking antifreeze now. Any thoughts? Thanks.

 

Could be a leaking heater core. What year is your car? Any wet spots on or under your passenger side footwell carpet?

 

It is a 1999 XC70 Turbo. Thanks for the reply. I will check out the wet spots. Not that I know of.

 

My car does the same thing! 98 V70XC turbo. I told the mechanic about this before- they checked the heater core and replaced a clamp on a hose and said the core itself isn't leaking. I've never seen any wet spots and it still smells like antifreeze!
