I've got a 1999 v70 xc. Its check engine light is on, and pretty much always has been, and it runs great. My mechanic messed with it quite a bit and determined it was throwing a false code, and said I could choose to live with it or get a new computer (or, maybe, get the computer reprogrammed.)
So, I have lived with it. Every now and then the ABS and TRACS lights started going on, but would then go off, so I lived with that. Now, every now and then, the ABS, TRACS, and BRAKE light all go on at once, the speedometer stops working, and then the warning lights go off, and the speedometer starts working again. And yesterday, the SRS light came on, and has not gone off. Also, twice now, the W arrow light has flashed for a while, then gone off the next time I start the car.
All this time, the car has seemingly run fine, with no noticeable changes.
One more thing I might note, though I assume is unrelated, is that the car when the heater warms up smells a bit sweet, like coolant. My mechanic ran a pressure test on the cooling system and says there are no leaks, and the car doesn't seem to lose coolant, there is no fogging of the windows, etc.
Am I dealing with 3 separate issues here? Heater core, abs module and something with the airbag system?
If anyone can offer any advice on these issues and what it might take to resovle them, I would be grateful.

My 2003 V 70 had the SRS stay on, dash indicators and speedo etc would all shut down, but car ran great. Finally took it to the dealer, found no codes but knew where to look. Bad wiring under the drivers seat. Seems to be a problem they know about. Dealer performed the work at no cost.
