Stalls when cold
I have a '98 XC70 which has just started stalling when cold. If I nurse the throttle and restart (a few times),until warm, it runs well. The check engine light has come on. Short of a trip to the dealer, are there a couple key things to check? I'm reasonably mechanically inclined. I also intermittently see the "up" arrow.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention - It will stall and die if I keep the RPMs at any steeady state above 2500. In other words, if I nurse the accelerator, I can keep the engine running well enough to drive. Oh well, I guess it's off tto the dealer for an Engine Code check. Cross your wallets boys, it's going to be a bumpy ride!
If you are near and Auto Zone or Discount Auto parts they pull codes for free. You might have a bad coolant temp sensor or a bad mass flow sensor. But you need to have the codes pulled first.
