I just purchased a 2004 XC70 and within a week the throttle body is not working properly. We have heard from the mechanic that did the scope that this may be a recall item. Is this true and does anyone know a dealer in the NW that will cover this repair?

 

No, a 2004 is not equipped with the etm/electronic throttle module that was involved in that extended warranty, only vehicles up to 2002. Your car has a throttle actuator, which functions completly different. It is not uncommon for them to occasionally fail, I've replaced a few. You can try cleaning it, but more than likely you'll need a new one. Hope this helps
