Default TPS Sensor replacement Issues

Hello all, I have just purchased a 98 XC70 and 30 minutes after purchasing the check engine and arrow lights come on. I pulled the codes and determined it was the TPS Sensor. I bought the part and replaced it, then cleared the codes. Everything is working well but in the great state of Georgia we have to get an emissions test when tagging the car. I took the car to an emissions test station and they say that the codes are clear but the O2 Sensor, Air System, and Catalytic system is showing as not ready.

The question I have is how long does it take for the ECU to get the Data to start showing?

There are no other codes or issues i have found so far.

Thanks
Chris

Search on "readiness status" and you will find that there is a very specific drive cycle to perform. Some people have success with this method, others do not. I did not and just let time be the factor. I was able to get all but 2 set to Ready within about 200 miles. In TX, I can have 2 not ready for a 98, so I got it passed. A thousand miles later and my 02 sensor has still not set to ready (not that I care).

So, you can just carry your scanner with you and when you get the allowable number set to ready, go get it inspected.
