Question XC70 2006/2013 wheel interchangeability?

My 2006 XC70 just got totalled last week. (The great news: My daughters walked away from it without so much as a bruise. Volvo for the win.) I just replaced it yesterday with a 2013 XC70 T6.

I don't have snow tires for the T6, and it's still winter here in New Hampshire. One of the steel winter wheels, and the two-season-old Nokian Hakkapeliita R2 on it, were written off in the crash. I still have all four of the 16" OEM wheels from the '06. (They have a set of Yokohama Tornante summer tires on them that I bought last May.) But they are, I believe, 16×6.5 with a 65.1mm center bore, whereas the 16" base wheel for the '13 is 16×7 with a 63.4mm center bore.

What I'm hoping someone can tell me is, how much does this difference matter? I'm tired of trying to use off-the-shelf steel winter wheels on the XC70, I never want to see another multi-fit steel wheel again; it seems they always vibrate because they never center perfectly. Will the '06 wheels center properly on my '13, or will they float and vibrate like the tire-store multi-fit steel wheels do?

(Lost my original account, can't find a record of the credentials...)

you will need to order a set of hub centering rings to mount the old wheels on the new car. these cars use the hub to center the wheel - not the bolts so without the hub rings they will likely be out of balance. Check out ebay. they can either be plastic for about $15 or aluminum for about $30. I'd go with the aluminum... just google "hub centric rings 65.1 63.4"

Thanks for the tip, that will save me a BUNCH of money. Found a set of aluminum rings on Amazon for $15 from Circuit Performance.
