Been trying to get ride of this code, came on rite after I purchased 2 weeks ago.
have put in new timming belt and cam shaft senser and lite comes back after copple of
driving cycles, do you think replacing the VVT solinoid will fix this?

 

Are you 100% sure the timing is correct?
Did the light come on before replacing the belt?

 

Yes' the code was on before replacing belt, last weekend I opened the cover and the belt

had a lot of cracks even thow only 73000 miles, I'm thinking because it's a 2000 just from age that it's dryed outso I picked up belt and marked every thing, checked reference points
and put in belt but not tensioner sobefore reserching this and other sites didn't relisethat
you should also replace tensior and pully with belt so even thow gage on tensior is set in
middle of scale it might be week so thats my next step before I replace VVT Soliniod.
alsohave rattle over every bump ondriver side frontwhat I have to check into yet.
any Ideas let me know. Craig

No, bought it used from dealer, looks like a O.k.deal for 8 grand but it needs a little
clean up, runs and drives perfect execpt for check engine light and rattle at slow speed
over bumps and upper torsion rubber looks pretty shot.

 

OK I was wondering if someone replaced the cam seals.

 

I am going to drop by the dealer on a timming kit and check out prices on a few pieces
compared to internet shops, need to get things done before it get's back on the road
again. how would I know it seal's have been replaced and I might try to get ahold of
the previse owner, I do have her local address and see traded it in at honda dealer ship.
I have a 3 other car's so not real urget to get fixed and also bought it for a winter car
for the wife and 5 kids next season.

 

It would be really hard to tell by looking if they were replaced.

 

Droped by dealer and they wanted $280 for timming set so ordered it from autohous,
hopefully get parts tue or wed and can get it togeather better! I'll keep you informed
