04' T5 Maintenance (?!)
I am in the process of buying an 04' XC90 T5 with a tad over a 100k.
What maintenance do I need to do RIGHT NOW ???
I have heard horror stories from the T6 4-speed trannys...
But how are the 5-speed's holding up?
Do the turbos need any tuning/tweaking?
Hows the engine itself?
And what about the electrical system?
Thanks in advance! - Any info would be great.

Wow...
You guys are a lively bunch.
OK. I am a hardcore Jeep guy. I am a member of several different clubs and forums.
I am not a forum newbie. I just need some info.
My wife really wants a Volvo, and we are gonna test out a cheap used one for a
year or so, and see if it is what we really want and need.
Any info you guys can provide on an 04' T5 would really help.

Thats funny as hell. I am a Jeep guy too. On many clubs and forums. I do rock crawling on the east coast. I found the same problem with this forum. But to answer your question. I myself just bought a 2004 2.5 xc90 with 109K. We have an 04 s40 so I knew their longevity. The 2.5 engine and tranny combo are very reliable. Things to check and or service.
Timing belt- replace
PCV system- clean and or replace, make sure it is working or you will have engine oil leak problems
If it is AWD check to make sure it works. It can fail for many reasons.
Flush the tranny oil
Any questions feel free to ask- pk6297@yahoo.com

Paul

Awesome. I come to a Volvo forum and find a 'Jeeper'. We are like a disease!
Thanks for the info! That's the kinda stuff I am looking for.
The 04 ran and drove great, but it had 140K and it's a lil rougher inside than I was looking for.
I found an 05 near Atlanta with 97K for a good price because it has a bad radio. I have connections
in the car business and in the audio business so I think I can get the issue resolved pretty cheap.
