Hi,
My XC90 (2004) has three 12 volt outlets: one below the radio in the main console, one between the front seats, facing to the back seating and one in the luggage compartment.
I regular bought a 12 volt ('cigarette lighter') charger for my iPhone, but the plug keeps popping out when I try the front and back-seat facing outlets. Only the luggage outlet is able to keep the plug in. I tried a couple of other plugs and I had the same effect. Does Volvo -in their unlimited wisdom()- put in non-standard plugs, except in the luggage compartment?
Anyone has experienced this too - and knows a solution ?

Get a lighter splitter.

 

Hmm, are that genuine Volvo parts? Today this are only outlets, there is no lighter in there. I am afraid when I get something non-volvo it doesn't work.

 

I have gotten a couple of them. I got one from AutoZone and another from some other parts store. If it doesn't fit/work, take it back.

 

European cars have slightly different outlet sizes than US/Asian cars. but most plugs will work on them. I have at&t branded iphone car chargers and they fit fine. some aftermarket ones (like the ones you get for $1 on ebay) may not fit.
