I purchased a 2005 XC90 for my daughters first car. After transporting it home I had a new alternator installed however the mechanic damaged the metal fuel line. Had a more competent mechanic fix the fuel line only to find it needed a new battery. Purchased a new battery and installed that yesterday but now the fuel pump does not activate so I can't get fuel to the engine to get it started. Engine turns over fine just no fuel to fire up. Is there something in fixing the lines or installing the battery that could have caused the fuel pump to shut down? I am at a loss and getting frustrated. Thanks for helping.

 

first thing i'd check is fuel pump fuse and relay.
