I have a 2005 XC90 V8 with 27K miles. When started from cold it make a lot of noise which stops after about 5 seconds. Then it idles quietly. But if you rev it up
the noise returns. It sounds like an accessory drive idler or possibly a cam chain issue. It sounds like it is coming from the valley area. The engine oil level is OK and the power
steering fluid level is OK (PS pump is in the valley). Is this normal? Or is this a common problem. If so does anyone know the fix?

Hi. With only 27K miles and less than 5 years this should be covered under warranty. I would take it to your Volvo dealer.
