Default 2006 Volvo XC90 2.5T

Hey Guys new here.

I think I have decided to upgrade to a XC90. From the little searching I have done it looks like the "best buy" is a 2006 XC90 2.5T. I would like to know things that are common on 2.5T Xc90s to go wrong and other things to look for when looking for an excellent one.

If I should look at other versions please let me know and give me good reasoning.

Thank y'all in advance. Have a great evening.

1- Wheel bearings and engine mounts. Excellent choice, model discontinued in 2006.
2- 2008 3.2, still in production, 32 more horsepower. No turbo hasstle, face lifted, upgraded audio and satnav.
Good luck, both models have a clean bill of health and above average reliability ratings.
keep us posted

^Thank you for your reply.

What kind of mileage difference between the 2.5T and 3.2?

Also, How difficult is changing the wheel bearings and what do you look for to see if they are bad?

What signs would show a worn out engine mount?

I wouldn't be so much worried about fuel consumption once I am venturing in the SUV market, because as you already know, those vehicles run much less per gallon than standard cars. However, a 2.5T has a five cylinder light pressure turbo engine, so obviously it has less gas consumed than the inline 6 cylinder engine of the 3.2.
As for the signs of wheel bearings and engine mounts wearing out, I am not a mechanic myself to help you out, but it looks like these are the parts that need to be replaced once a 2.5T runs a 100K or so according to most owners of the type. I would not be worried about that either, all SUVs need major service once they reach that kind of a mileage.
