Does anyone know if the power steering pump from any other year or model will interchange with a 2006 xc90 4.4? It seems to be a rare part. Volvo cost is 475-750 and all the rebuilt or aftermarket ones don't seem to have much information about them.

 

You're limited to any year 4.4

 

so the 07 08 09 4.4 xc90 will fit the 06? The reason I ask is they have different part numbers and I'm not familiar with the part enough to know if the mounting is the same

 

They should but let me double check. Maybe they changed something

 

I'm showing all XC90 V8s to have the same pump.

 

Thank you, I have one other question?. I bought the car in December and was waiting till spring to give it a full service. Since I'll be replacing the power steering pump I was going to do the idler pulleys at the same time. From searching the diagrams I see 2 pulleys on the block and one on the belt tensioner. From looking at the diagrams all 3 appear to be the same pulley. Is the pulley on the tensioner the same as the 2 on the block?
I'm hoping so because the tensioner is about 400-500 and the bearing is 50

 

I'm not sure because Volvo doesn't sell just the pulley for the tensioner, it comes as an assembly.

 

Curious if green2man0 was successful. Replaced a 2005 XC90 4.4 PS Pump due to hard steering and noises during cold starts. Turns out that wasn't the problem - same symptoms after replacement. So it is something 'else' in the belt train or hydraulics. Scouring the Forum to see if any others had a similar problem.
