Exclamation 2006 XC90 4.4 V8 "Anti Skid Service Required"

Hello! New to the forum, and not super knowledgeable about all the technical aspects of these cars. I understand the basics of how cars work but don't have the ability to scan anything myself or really work on it myself.

I own a 2006 XC90 V8 with about 210k km's on it. Ever since I bought it it's had an intermittent "Anti Skid Service Required" message come up on the dash, and when the message appears, the car defaults to FWD. Usually restarting the car fixes it temporarily going right back to AWD and some days it doesn't come on at all. The local dealer mentioned that it's usually a control module or the Steering Angle Sensor, and the message usually appears when turning the wheel to the left, at least in my best attempt to recreate it. The dealer also mentioned the fix would be anywhere from $700-3k CAD, which seems high but it needs to be fixed.

Any suggestions?

Additionally, if anyone knows a shop local in Vancouver, BC, greatly appreciated.

Finally, my driver's side window, when switched up, just goes all the way up and then right back down. Not sure if this is an easy fix but just a minor annoyance.

Did the dealer run any diagnostics to determine if its the steering angle sensor/clockspring vs the control module? If you are curious about the effort, there are Youtube vids on how to replace the sensor and how the calibration is done. I did a quick check and the sensor goes for about $400 US so with 2 hours labor, the $700 estimate seems about right. If its the control module, then I'd suggest they start by cleaning the connectors and contacts before you look into replacing the module. I'm not really sure which control module they are referring to since the anti-skid is tied into the ABS system. You can check out sites like Xemodex or Midwest ABS to read up on getting the ABS control module rebuilt (only if its determined to be the cause) for about $250 which is way less than a factory replacement, and since its your unit it won't require programming.
