My 2006 XC90 2.5T AWD stopped running with P0089 code. Have replaced fuel pressure sensor at the injector rail. Replaced entire fuel pump assembly with recommended factory specs. Replaced Fuel Pump Driver Module with factory specs part. If I manually fill the fuel pump canister the car runs fine until the canister is empty, but no fuel is refilling the canister from the pick up side. Pick up line and screen are new with the new fuel pump. Pick up screen is attached properly and pressed to bottom of clean tank. Fuse and relay are obviously fine since the manually filled pump canister keeps the car running for 5-7 minutes.
Any ideas?

 

Just found out what the problem was! In the process of installing the new pump I knocked the canister fill hose out of the clip that holds it in place over the top of the open canister. The pick up pump was working, but the fuel was missing the can. Hope this helps someone else.
