2006 xc90 running rough
My volvo started acting funny the other day. It died coming off the highway after a 12 mile trip. It would idle fine after i restarted but had almost no throttle response. Luckily my shop is only about a half mile from the exit. I limped it over there and started checking for what could be wrong. I found the intake tube had detached from the airbox. I figured that makes sense...maf reading was off and was getting unmetered air so it probably went into limp mode. I reattached the tube and cleaned the maf sensor with the crc maf cleaner. Since reattaching it has been starting terrible. It surges, dies, surges, dies, almost no throttle response until a minute or two and then once it gets going it seems to drive fine. I checked the maf heated element and it doesn't look burnt out (both wires are still intact). I've ordered a new maf sensor. Do you think that will get it fixed? 2006 volvo xc90 4.4l. I also cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner and got a bit of carbon off from around the blades as long as the tube was off. Is there anything else I should be checking? It had a brief CEL...but apparently the heat in the area cooked my OBDII scanner so I don't have codes for you all. I have a new scanner on order as well. Before it died coming off the off ramp everything was normal...no hesitation, started good, ect.
Oh I also reset the ecu....pulled battery cables and left them off for a half hour touched together.
