I'm about to purchase my first Volvo, a 2007 xc90 with the 3.2. I'm a bit of a crazy person when it comes to maintenance, I'm going to be replacing all the fluids. My question is what are the recommended fluids for pretty much everything, mainly transmission fluid

 

Start by checking the owners manual to see what fluid standards and volumes are then go shopping. A quick check and I noted the transmission uses JWS3309 transmission fluid and the brakes use DOT4+. You can do a simple drain/fill on the transmission (repeat 2-3 times if the fluid looks dark) just make sure to follow the recommended procedure for measuring the levels cold and hot.
