BLUF: Took my car to Pepboys to perform the A/C diagnosis. They told me the system was fine but it needed to be evacuated and recharged. The air coming out was cool, but not cold. I now have the car in a local shop to replace the thermostat and had them perform the A/C recharge. The local shop said that after recharging and running the system, the low pressure side is high (didn’t say what pressure). Now I’m being told that this indicates the compressor is bad.

Any techs know if a higher than normal pressure on the low pressure side indicates a bad compressor?
