2007 xc90 looses oil
I have found I have to add a quart about every 3000 miles. Is this normal? A repair man suggested I have the head gasket replaced to fix the leak but this is a pricy repair. Is it safe to drive and just add the oil when needed, or should I do the repair?
I have 126,000 miles on this car and I am the original owner. I'm considering purchasing the new xc90 after it has proven to be realizable. I'm also considering the Mercedes m-class as a replacement.
I'm just not sure how much I should invest in my 2007 xc90. I may have it for another year or so depending on which direction I go for my new vehicle.
Any recommendations are appreciated!

Well whenever we had issues with oil consumption on those engines the process was usually to reseal the cam cover for that engine code. A big job but not as deep as a head gasket. Very rarely have I replaced engines after the cam cover was done, which is the next step.
