I don't think the "ECM gasoline upgrade" did anything other than alleviate me of $100. I am getting similar numbers to you.

 

It isn't a "gasoline upgrade". It is a software update to the ECM software. Volvo makes gasoline engines and diesel engines. The ECM Gasoline Upgrade is just referring to the type of ECM. If it was diesel, then software is called ECM diesel upgrade.

 

Right but the question is what the heck does the ECM update do?
If they went through the trouble of making an update (and charging for it), then it was surely designed to do something like help increase fuel efficiency.
Ill call my dealership today to see if they have any info.

 

Right, I have a gasoline engine which is why I bought the ECM gasoline software upgrade which I was told would improve fuel consumption. So far it has not made a lick of difference.
