2010 XC90 no AWD, no communication with DEM, CEM and ECM
Howdy folks,
This is my first post ever in the forums. My 4th Volvo 2010 XC90 3.2 AWD lost AWD.
I know for fact the system worked as when I bought the car in April with 120K in the clock did every single service in the manual, including dropping the prop shaft for a full Haldex service. At the time I check data before and after the service and everything was OK.
I have an iCarSoft scanner and I have a VM on my laptop with Win 7 and a copy of VIDA but don't have the Chinese DICE.
AWD was working like a charm, I used to climb the car on every snow bank just because I could do it. I drove Ottawa to Montreal on Dec 23 under very nasty weather and the car behaved like a true champ. Left it at a friend's driveway for two weeks while I traveled, my buddy even said he started and warmed up the car a few times during that time but didn't mention anything. As soon as I get in the car and start it, within minutes get a warning message AWD disabled, Service required. Drove back home and did a couple errands. Next morning message disappeared on its own. When I hooked up the scanner I didn't see any codes but didn't see the option to view live data like I used to before. Code came back shortly after in the day and still would not see codes in the DEM but could "CLEAR" them and get rid of the message but AWD was still not there. Scanned my 2006 S80 AWD and was able to talk to every module especially DEM, tried the same on my dad's 2007 XC70.
Noticed later I can't see live data on ECM and CEM, however, if I access through regular OBDII mode I can see some engine data, but not when I get in the Volvo specific mode and try to talk to the module.
I tested F23 in the REM and OK, module receives power and solenoid receives power. Removed module and there is no water intrusion signs at all anywhere in the under carriage. Got 3ogms of resistance across the pump VIDA says 3-5 and the pump was cold. Fed the pump directly and worked like a charm, Haldex oil still nice and clean. I got a voltage in the signal pins of the module connector but not sure what to make out of them with my regular digital multimeter. I don't have Min/Max or peak function.
I removed both battery cables and held them together for 5 min for a network reset. Still nothing, AWD msg popped right away.
I'm putting my money in a network issue that the module is not powering the pump as is not receiving ENGINE RUNNING signal or something. I don;t want to send the DEM to XeMoDex for $800+ without being fully certain and given the fact I can't see live data from CEM and ECM as well reinforces my theory of a network issue over the DEM. I already got the wiring diagram as my Vida doesn't have them
Any thoughts?? Many thanks in advance for reading and any help is greatly appreciated.
