2011 Volvo XC90 Brake fluid DOT 4 but what kind
Any DOT 4 synthetic should be fine. Owner's manual in my 2011 3.2 says 'DOT 4+', which I'm pretty sure means DOT 4 or anything higher than DOT 4, like DOT 5.1. I've never seen anything actually labeled DOT "4+" in the stores. There's also a specific Volvo brake fluid which you can buy at the dealer or FCP Euro, but it's not cheap... This stuff:

Probably cheaper if you can buy it at a local Volvo dealer:

Cheapest; just get some Prestone synthetic DOT 4 at the local auto parts store for $12...

I had ordered brake fluid. It came yesterday. I topped up brake fluid. Many people were talking about the sensors. I think I would have to agree. Started up this morning (we had been getting a lot of rain but yesterday, very warm. Started xc90 up and the messages went away immediately. Maybe it just needed to dry out. But thank you all
