Default 2016 Volvo XC90 P018C Fuel Pressure Sensor “B” Circuit Low

Hello,

I have a 2016 XC90 with 129xxx km. There is a service bulletin that expired at 80,000 miles (128xxx km).

I have a P018C Fuel Pressure Sensor “B” Circuit Low message when scanned with an OBDII scanner.

As it’s out of warranty and the Volvo TSB, I’m on the hook for the repair. Volvo wants $159 for just scanning with their scanner for diagnosing then add labour and parts.

My question is regarding the sensor itself. There are 2 fuel pressure sensors on the XC90. One on the fuel rail and one on the feed to the rail (looks like a T). Which is the one to replace?

Thanks in advance.

I have a 2016 Volvo XC90 with 45k. Six months ago the engine light came on, and my dealer told me as I don’t do many miles, it wasn’t worth fixing. Another dealer told me it was imperative I got it fixed. So I paid $1,566.72 and they replaced two oxygen sensors. Within a month of having that done, the light came back on and apparently the code is P0180C, and I was told I had to take the car back to my original dealer. I’ve just been looking online and I see this code is for a fuel sensor. Does anyone know if this is dangerous to drive, since I really can’t afford another costly repair.

Thanks guys

since posting this I went online chat directly with Volvo, which turned out to be an unhelpful bot. I finally took the car back to the Volvo dealer I purchased it from and it seems that this fuel sensor gauge was covered under a warranty recall, so the repair was done and it didn’t cost me anything 😀
