2018 Volvo XC90 T5 - Welcome The Newbie (Intro Post!)
Hey Guys,
Thought I'd do a quick intro post (do people still do those?). My wife and I just picked up a 'new to us' 2018 Volvo XC90 Momentum T5 FWD model with 28K miles on the clock. My wife has always been a Volvo XC90 fan, and we recently had our 2nd kiddo, and needed something bigger to handle all of the baby gear + have room for when family comes and visits and be able to all fit it one vehicle rather than our 4-door sedans.
Pics:
I think we got a decent deal (used car market is pretty crazy right now). We know the Momentum's are considered the base-model for the XC90, but whoever owned it before us added a few nice extra options:
Background: A bit about me, I have definitely been a car guy all my life. I am more of an Audi / VW fan though! Honestly, been driving Audi's since I was 14 (Don't tell the police!) and currently, my car I daily drive is a 2005 Audi A4 1.8T with 220K Miles (and a bunch of modifications) that I purchased in 2009:
So, while I am fairly familiar with all the European car issues, Volvo's are a whole new platform for me. I can also do some basic DIY stuff (Oil Changes, Air Filters, etc.), but we did get a certified warranty through Volvo (until 2023). So any major repairs (outside of maintenance), will probably be handled by our local dealer or independent mechanic for really complicated jobs.
Anyway, just wanted to do a quick intro! I know there are a few Volvo Forums out there, and I am too "old-school" to join any of the Facebook / Instagram XC90 groups (prefer forums!) with anything car related. But just wanted to post and introduce myself, my wife and I are excited to join the Volvo family!
P.S. - I will try to use the search box to look up any questions I have, but please be gentle with a Volvo newb like me! =)
Thanks, Asif
