2018 XC90 Cranks, Won't Start -Reduced Engine Performance
Hi,
We have a 2018 XC90 that's been a reliable vehicle with minor issues up until now. We had a pretty intense rain/wind storm that swept through for a last couple days and after it cleared out we found we couldn't get it started. My wife went to start it and it started but she got the Reduced Engine Performance message with the turtle. She shut it off to restart and now it will crank but will not turn over. It's a little suspect because we've never had the issue before and it's curious it just starts after this major storm. Is it possible a sensor was damaged during the weather and we're getting a faulty message?
Thanks!

Have you pulled the fault codes with an OBD2 scanner? What are the exact fault messages you are seeing? Its possible something got wet, particularly if you drove through a deep puddle. You may also need to check system voltage and check fuses as water can short a circuit. If you see a code, write it down, clear it and try restarting (using jumper cables if need be to keep the battery from draining too much).
