Has anyone found a solution to the problem when 2024 XC90 Ultimate Gas (not Recharge hybrid) gas door will not open. This model does not have the interior release button. It does not always automatically unlock when you unlock the doors and exit the car. Dealer cannot find the problem after having it for a week. Volvo had no information to provide to Dealer and said it must not be a real problem.

 

By chance after you get out to fuel your XC, are you locking your vehicle?

 

No, I am not. Although the way to get the door to release is to open and shut the door, lock and unlock the door from the outside, multiple times and it will finally release. There is no pattern to this rain dance, and sometimes takes several minutes of locking/unlocking/opening/closing a door to make it work. Seems the issue is in the unlock signal not being communicated to the fuel door. Trying to escalate to Volvo, no progress so far.
