Air not diverting after changing XC90 blower and resistor
Hi, this weekend I changed the blower and resistor on my XC90 2010. The blower stopped working a few week back but disconnecting and reconnecting the plug made it work for a few more weeks. The new blower is working but the air doesn’t come out of the vents? It seems that the diverters are no longer actuating? I would be grateful for any ideas.
A good first step would be to scan all the control units in the car - especially the CCM. With the right scan tool you can also verify the CCM is responding to button positions. Or you might check fuse 10 on the CEM for the CCM. (wiring diagram is from a 2010 - you didn't specify a year)
Hi, firstly many thanks for the reply. Sorry I forgot to mention the model year, which is a 2010. I’ve checked all relevant fuses and everything is as it should be. I can adjust fan speed etc on the blower and I can hear the AC compressor kicking in so that’s ok. On the CCM all function buttons press on and off / light up, but I cannot hear the actuators for the air vents change position. I have a small Bluetooth OBDii connector in the car to link to my phone. Can you recommend any good scanning apps that may work with this car?
Hi. I’ve had exactly the same issue after changing mine. Did you manage to solve the issue? The blower works fine, I can see the flap linkages moving when the diverting buttons are pressed, but no air in the vents, or the floor vent’s or the windscreen. Only fault picked upmost by VIDA is a problem with the air quality sensor, can this cause this? I removed the filter and put my hand up in to he filter housing, again no air. Do I have the wrong blower unit?
