I was changing my oil yesterday and noticed that the bevel gear is leaking at the seam where the two halves bolt together. I'd like to have it repaired before it runs dry and fails. I've read another post that says there is a TNN for this and its not a big job to repair.
Does anyone know the TNN number? Any ideas on what a reasonable price is to repair? I brought the vehicle to a highly recommended transmission specialist but want to know what to expect.

Got a quote today from indy for $850 to repair the weeping bevel gear. Local dealer is $1200 to repair leak. Dealer also quoted $2300 for replacement, $1800 of which is parts and requires a core trade.

 

Picked up the vehicle today. All gaskets replaced in bevel gear housing. Total cost $675.
