Bluetooth help
Hi I need some help.
I recently bought an 08 XC90 which came with a Bluetooth module stuck to the dash.
I went away for 2 weeks to find the battery was completely discharged and I suspect it may either be the Bluetooth or possible the phone charger (no phone) that was plugged into the cigarette lighter.
The Bluetooth module has never worked and I have never been able to pair it to any phone, however it stays illuminated as if it has power even when the car is turned off with no key in the ignition.
There is no branding on the Bluetooth but it looks like this (excluding the big M) - http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...mL._SY300_.jpg
I have seen other Volvos with this same module on cars which did not have integrated BT.
I’ve tried every combination of buttons to turn it off and the buttons stay illuminated.
My questions are, does anyone know the make and model of this?
Should there always be power to this or should it turn off with the car?
Is there a way to manually turn it off?
Can I turn it off or disconnect it without having to pull my radio out? I suspect there is a control model of some kind behind the radio and this is simply a user interface so cutting the wire to it will not solve my problem?
Is it possible the phone charger drew enough current to discharge the battery over 14 days?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
