Brake lights

Default Brake lights

HI.I have a 2005 XC90 and the brake lights are staying on even when the keys are out of the ignition.I have removed the brake light switch under the steering wheel but have had no joy .Any suggestions?

If you press the button in on the brake light switch do they go off?
Also what position is the headlight switch in?

No.The headlight switch is in the off position.The only way to turn them off is by dissconnecting the battery.

Maybe the brake light switch is bad.

You can check the switch -if the button is pressed the re should beinfinite resistance bet. terminals.
