Broken windshield wiper tubes
I have learned a squirrel or rat has taken up residence in my engine bay during cold nights here in California. The animal has made a next on the battery by chewing up insulation (annoying) and has sampled the sweet, sweet deliciousness of the windshield wiper tubing as well. This is the SECOND car the animal hit, doing the exact same thing to my Mazda. That car had a simple fix, the tubing is hollow (no heating lines) and i could just plug it with an adapter. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy.
The XC90 has two wires inside the windshield wiper tubing, you can see them in the photo. I read on Volvo site the wiper nozzles are heated in freezing weather to avoid icing them up. I’m guessing these wires are for that purpose. Is this tubing just to carry those wires, or does it ALSO carry the fluid? Any tips on replacing the wires? I can solder them back together, but if water is going through the tube, they’ll probably short out again. I can’t seem to find any tubing with the wire inside of it from any site for a drop in replacement. I’m going to start tearing it apart, was just hoping someone had some tips so I could order the parts and replace them once it’s apart (rather than drive around without wipers for a week)

Isolated the part with barcode in it, how do I read the code?
so I got the plastic housing cover off the area where the tube went under and found the harness connector right there. Replacement looks to be easy, the connector and tube all the way up to the spray nozzle seems to just press into place. I scanned the 2D code on the side of the part and it has this number embedded in it: “339869928429991400623”. I looked on volvopartswebstore.com , but don’t find anything with that number. Do I have to trim out part of the text string? Any secrets how to order the part from the web?
