I had to replace the windshield wipers and went to the regular auto part and got some that fit fine, except that when I removed the driver side wiper, I realized it had some sort of a guard attached to it with Allen screws.

Is this supposed to be an OEM part?

I kept it just in case...

The ones I put are inexpensive $10 wipers, as I know for a fact that they last just as long as the $20 ones.
