Nevermind, I finally found it.

2005 XC90 2.5 Turbo.

It is at the end of the gear shift cable and attaches on to the ball of the gear selector in the engine compartment.

The metal rod broke off right behind the piece labeled "18". I can't seem to find any info on it because I don't know what it is called.

My thought is it is part of the gear selector cable and not available by itself.

Where did you find it at?

 

if it doesn't have its own number in the part diagram that usually means it's only available as a complete assembly and not separately. I'd call that a socket.
