Code 2402 Leak Detection Pump
Hey Group,
I just changed this on Sunday and wanted to pass along how it went.
My XC90 is an 07, 3.2, AWD
Car threw the 2402 almost every key cycle, when you look it up it’s the leak detection pump or “LDP” as a lot of folks call it. I dug around and read up on it so figured I could tackle it.
Bought a new Bosch unit on eBay for $66.00, took the spare tire out and it was right there in plan sight, removed the connector, two 9mm ( I think) bolts on the top of the bracket let it be free enough to pop the hose clamps with a flat bladed screw driver, took it to the bench, 3 torx screws for the bracket, old one out new one in.
Super easy even for an old guy with bifocals.
Cleared the ECM and started driving it again.
It took about 8-9 key cycles to get the evap system ready but passed inspection with flying colors.
Sorry about no pictures, I’ll be better next project
Don't be afraid to try this one it really was easy and saved a ton of money.
