I just replace the waterpump and a/c compressor on my 2008 Volvo xc90 3.2L, but now, after starting it, it doesn't really respond when I press the accelerator pedal and won't go past 1600-1800rpm.
I get a P1589 code and my regular mechanic says it sounds like maybe something isn't plugged in. After a carefol search, I did locate a wire harness that doesn't have anything plugged into it, but I don't see anything that could plug into it. I'm attaching a picture of it...it's on the driver's side under the spot that the air intake components sit...does anyone know what should be plugged into the harness in the picture? Could that be where my problem lies?
I bought this car from a local government auction and it had been running pretty well for the last 7 months...

 

I have 2012 xc90 with the same plug hanging there. I don't think it goes to anything essential but I am curious why it is even there.
