Default Contimplating buying an XC90 t6

Hey guys, I'm considering buying a t6 and am wondering if there is a wide spread tranny issue? Or am I finding tranny issues because only the people who have issues post them on these online review places.

I love the car, just am unsure of the transmission issue.

Your opinions please.

The XC90 has more than just tranny issues. I worked at a Volvo dealer and the XC90 is not very reliable in my opinion. Good luck!

I own one. Trust me, stay away.

I'm putting in a new tranny now for $4100 and that's just the beginning of a long line of gripes. My business partner and I bought them at the same time. He put a new tranny at 55K miles and has had numerous problems too.

Can't speak for the others, but the T6 is not a good choice, IMO.

Don't walk, run away from the T6. You can find a V8 or a 2.5 and be just as happy. Plus you wont be driving around a ticking time bomb in a transmission.

We didn't listen to the negative posts 3 years ago and now we are saving for the inevitable, a new transmission.

Anybody know if the rebuilt transmissions from Volvo are the same thing or have they been fixed? I'm putting in a new one right now and I'm wondering if it is going to be just same song second verse or if the rebuilt transmissions are beefed up and improved based on what they've seen from the failed ones.

Either way, Volvo did just an awful job on this - and they knew it. This should have been recalled and the transmissions replaced. For a premium vehicle, this is completely unacceptable.

I had a Subaru Legacy wagon a few years ago. At 95K miles it wouldn't backup anymore. I went into to get it fixed and the Subaru dealer asked me if I had gotten the recall notice. I hadn't (bought the car used). They said, "No Problem, Subaru recalled that last year. You get a rebuilt transmission at no cost to you." 95,000 miles. Now compare that to Volvo's complete refusal to accept responsibility for this lame design.

Sorry if I'm upset about this - it's because I'm $4100 upset right now for something I should never of had to do.

Bottom line - don't buy that T6.

I wouldn't trade my Geo for an XC90 unless I could sell it for profit.

I debated between the Acura MDX and the XC90. Tons of regret... I can list $$$'s of reasons why.
