Question Coolant leaks about pint as weather changes

Hi, I have XC90 2005 2.5T fwd. I had a garage id the problem to a leaking oil cooler, and I guess I am more interested in if others have also had this problem? 2 Oil changes ago it was diagnosed, the fix was to replace it for about $700. Since 2 years ago, I had removed it, and replaced the washers/gaskets. is it possible I did it wrong? In my words, It burps and looses about a pint of fluid on the ground. It seems to be when it gets really cold, or warms up, and then gets really cold. (Okay I live in Minnesota, warm to us is 25 degrees. it really hasn't gotten below 9 degrees (yet, or much)

obviously I have a container of coolant in the car, since it mostly in the morning on my way to work is when its an issue. It doesn't do it all the time. I did take it in for the last oil change to the dealership, I didn't go into details, I did ask them to look for leaks, mentioning that the coolant is suspect. They said it was fine, no sign of leak.

no suspicions of leak into oil case.

Thanks for any suggestions
Tobie

any sweet smells in the cabin? if so you may have a leak in the heater core or the o-rings going into the heater core. Check for leaks around the sides of the raditor and reservoir. could be leaking when cold but when the engine warms up, it seals itself.

That is my thought, but it does leave a visible puddle of fluid, mid section of the engine compartment. occasionally.

No smell of antifreeze in cabin.

mildly suspicious of radiator.

Thank you

as easy thing to check is the 2 hoses to the overflow tank. mine leaked from the larger one because it was stiff and cracked where it connects to tank, replaced that and the tank (which was so brittle with age it broken when removing hoses), then the smaler hose later leaked (it was more bloated than cracked). it was hard to tell where it was leaking from except by feeling around there while engine running. or you may see greenish residue under the tank which is dried up antifreeze.
