Hello everyone.
I searched but could not find any threads regarding a "squeeky" or noisy dash.
I have an '07 V8 and have noticed that at certain temperatures that the material of my dash up where the front defroster vent is makes a squeeking-material-rubbing-rattling kind of noise.
Has anyone else experienced that?
I've removed the center speaker grill to see if I can access that area where the windshield meet the dash but no luck. The front defroster grill/hvac housing is in the way.
Would anyone know how to remove the front defroster grill? I managed the pop off the 2 ends and the center trim but I don't know how to remove the main grill/mesh.

I had the same problem on the drivers door, mainly around the handle. What i did was just spray WD-40 along all of the edges where the pieces of the door meet and that solved my noise.

 

I thought about that. However it sounds like its coming from a little deeper within the HAVC system. I think I'll give it a try in certain spots to see if that helps.

Give in. Every second XC90 does this sound. Recently I have my 2nd XC90. First started after 10000 miles.

 

My 2008 XC90 was squeaking terribly most noticeably when using the air conditioning. I bought a 2 1/2 foot long piece of rubber hose, about 7/16" to 1/2" diameter and stuffed it between the windshield and the dash and this completely solved my squeak.

 

Huh. so has anyone found the source of the squeak? I would really like to get rid of it too. My perfect XC90 drives like a dream and then begins the squeak, usually when the car has passengers that love to point it out.
