Default Driver seat position problems

The memory seat settings (Mem1/Mem2/Mem3) which are controlled by the remote keys only work intermittently. The actual memory remains good but the seat only goes to it's correct position (depending on which key is used to open the vehicle) only intermittently. When it does not work -- you need to push and hold the appropriate memory button on the side of the seat and it will go to the correct setting. Have complained to the dealer w/o success -- told "nothing in the computer shows a problem" and I am left out in the cold. Bought the vehicle brand new ('08) right off the showroom floor. Has always had this intermittent problem. Would appreciate any input. Love my Volvos (XC90 and S60) and this is the only complaint I can muster.

I understand you paid a lot of money for a nice ride like that, but if it came into the Volvo dealer and Vida shows no errors and the problem cannot be duplicated, and software updates don't fix it, then the mechanic is also left "out in the cold" with nothing to go on unless enough complaints are gathered for Volvo to investigate (usually safety items, not convienience items) a strange problem like this. I have worked on these vehicles and the electronics used in a Volvo XC-90 are probably more complex than anything Nasa has.

If that's the only complaint you have and you have not had to replace rear wheel bearings, rear tires, had alignment issues, and have more serious electrical problems, you should feel lucky.

Johnny -- Appreciate you taking the time to reply. I was afraid any/all answers would fall into the general category of "Oh well". I know the dilemma and really do not fault it. The converse remains, of course: when you spend +$40K you really do not expect to have issues that cannot be resolved. My XC-90 is a great car -- provides an excellent ride and is a joy to drive. It is the newer of our Volvo's (XC-90 '08 and S-60 '04). But the S-60 remains my favorite -- flawless operation. I'll continue to hope/tinker 'cause I love the option -- if only I could get it to function all the time. Thanks again.
